To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports.
The HEADS UP initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion. All coaches must complete this training prior to coaching.
Within Junior Premier League all coaches and team managers must complete SafeSport Training. This is currently executed through our governing body and must be completed yearly. The online training covers the following subjects: sexual abuse, hazing, bullying, emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, harassment (non-sexual) as well as reporting obligations

Junior Premier League requires background screening of all Adult coaches, team managers and administrators. This is currently done through the governing body of the Junior Premier League Pre-Academy Programme and is conducted on regular intervals to help ensure the safety of our youth.
